BIOGRAPHY

Henriette is a versatile singer with years of experience on international stages. Besides the opera repertoire, she is also well versed in the oratorio and song repertoire. Sometimes she also makes a trip to Jazz and Musical.

Henriette de Groot studied musicology at the University of Utrecht (Holland) From 1991 until 1998 she studied classical singing at the Conservatory of Utrecht with Henny Yana Diémer. During her studies she joined the opera class of the Conservatory in Amsterdam. She received a scholarship of Yamaha Music Company in 1995. At the Conservatory of Nancy in France she studied the French song and opera repertoire with Christiane Stutzmann and at the Conservatory of Salzburg, the Mozarteum, in Austria she studied Mozart repertoire with Prof. Rudolf Knoll. Henriette de Groot was a finalist at the International Mozart Competition in Salzburg and was also a finalist at the Christina Deutekom Competition in Holland. She had master classes with: Caroline Watkinson, Christina Deutekom, Renata Scotto and Jekatharina Jofel. Her operatic roles were: Belinda in “Dido and Aeneas” H.Purcell with Christopher Hainsworth at several festivals in France. La Baronesse in “La vie Parisienne” J.Offenbach with Promenade orchestra and Jan Stulen Second Lady in “ the magical flute” W.A.Mozart with Kenneth Montgomery Fiordiligi in “Cosi fan tutte” W.A.Mozart with K.Montgomery Dona Elvira in “Don Giovanni” W.A.Mozart with K.Montgomery Tatyana in “Eugen Onegin” P.I.Tsjaikovski with K.Montgomery Susanna in “Il segreto di Susanna”E.Wolff-Ferrari with U.S.C.orchestra Nedda in “I Pagliacci” R.Leoncavallo on festivals in Luxemburg, France, Italy, Switzerland and Holland with U.S.C.orchestra. Henriette de Groot sang in the Dutch National Opera choir for 6 years and also worked for the Dutch Radio choir as a free-lance singer. Henriette lives in Germany, where she teaches singing, conducts 3 choirs and works as a free-lance singer.
